Why Me? |
Uplifted by River House
(worm’s eye) and Rose Garden (algae on a log) photos, I decided to try a
selection of contrived and natural abstractions. The set is therefore called ‘Abstraction
Distraction’ because the secondary theme was multiple focal points within each
selection. I had grand delusions of
putting together several staged composites in my apartment and realized there
was only time for one – the slightly muted mood music shot named “Now What?” Next, I had to go back to River House for
“Webs of Wonder.” Making my way toward
town I saw this seminal image in the park near my place. Firing off several random shots I came up
with the ethereal “Ent in Hiding.”
Further along in my morning travels, the idea of finding something worth
shooting in Whiteaker appealed to me. A
“Whiteaker Window” seemed like a possibility on the south side of New Day
Bakery. This turned out to be in my top
two edited shots for the final project collage.
My next destination was the graveyard, and I like the contrast of levels
that presented itself in “Grave Concerns.”
Finally, on my way to today’s class I noticed algae on branches and
realized that the color tones in the Victorian edifice seemed like a nice
match. The bonus was the sign that
indicates this fabulous tree will soon be history, so I named this last shot
“Why Me?” Flying forward I hope to add
some lenses with lower and higher f-stops as well as a simple tripod for longer
exposures.
